mp3 labels / ken (AC4RD)

AC4RD is my FCC-issued radio license and callsign; you can look me up on the FCC’s site, it’s public information.   I’m Ken Kuzenski, and I live in the exotic and alluring People’s Democratic Republic of West Raleigh.   I retired 5 years ago and have been bedridden for a year, and nearly blind for most of a year.  Both are better now but I don’t get around much–as in, the mailbox is out of reach these days.

The sisters were amazing; let's respect them!

I have spent a ton of time listening to public domain radio programs and material.    I’ve always liked Gildersleeve and Bob & Ray; in recent years I discovered lots of sitcoms and serials to enjoy as I sit.  And *news*–I’ve always read a lot of history, so having actual news (and other programming) from the late Twenties through the end of WWII has been extraordinarily illuminating.  I’ve read all of William Shirer’s books; hearing his actual broadcasts, done live at the time, adds a new dimension to the reading.

ken’s “beulah” folder

Sorry; we geezers tend to ramble.   Anyway, I’ve got tons of radio programming as MP3 files on my machine (and thus my hard-working audio tablets.)  I’ve used all the big public sites plus some purchases from the nice OTRCat people.  Along the line, I got episodes of “The Beulah Show” and *hated* the illustration they had–a “mammy” picture with the lettering.  No call for that.   So I started diddling around with making labels for my MP3 files, often a standard 700-900 pixel square ‘folder.jpg’ and a smaller version to embed in the MP3 files themselves.

I’m going to try putting a ZIP of a bunch of my homemade labels right here.   _  _  ac4rd_mp3_labels _  _  _

and some samples below.   Some of these may violate copyrights; I’m assuming “fair use” and research/scholarship but these days who knows?  I made all of these with photos I found on the web.  No telling.  I claim no copyright; it’s just fiddling around.  But I’m trying to share them to see if anybody finds them useful or interesting.   I’ve got bunches more; these are samples.   I could supply some sample working files, where I create the image, and detail my own workflow creating them.    kenkuzenski@gmail.com or ken@kuzenski.org if there is any interest of any kind; just hoping it may be helpful in some way to someone in the OTR community.
