Hallicrafters

My “good” shortwave receiver for years when I was a kid was a Hallicrafters S-120.  I gave that away many many years ago.  Most Hallicrafters receivers are really attractive.  And I’ve always wanted an S-38 (among others.  Still need an SX-71 if you’ve got one!)

So I just found this S-38C, restored, recapped, aligned, weak tubes replaced, in good working shape, at a bargain price.  This one is from around 1952.  I do NOT need another shortwave receiver … but I  couldn’t resist.  And tube radios are special.
